2 cups chopped broccoli | |
1/4 cup butter | |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour | |
2 cups milk | |
1/2 cup heavy cream | |
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese | |
1/2 tsp salt | |
1/4 tsp garlic powder | |
1/4 tsp paprika | |
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper | |
1. | In a large pot, steam the broccoli until tender. |
2. | In another pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes. |
3. | Slowly whisk in milk and cream. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened. |
4. | Add in cheese, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Stir until cheese is melted. |
5. | Add broccoli to the cheese mixture and blend until smooth using an immersion blender or regular blender. |
6. | Serve hot! |
