Ingredients

4 1/2 cups chicken broth
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup finely chopped onion

2 ounces dark chocolate , chopped ( I usually use Hershey Special Dark , it has a sweetness that mellows the sauce )

Instructions

1.In a large saucepan, bring chicken broth to a simmer and keep it warm.

3.Add chili powder and flour to the pan, stir continuously until the mixture smells fragrant for about 3 minutes.
4.Slowly add the warm chicken broth to the mixture while whisking continuously. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes.
5.Remove the pan from heat and stir in the chopped dark chocolate until the sauce is smooth and fully combined. Serve immediately over your favorite dish!
