2 cups tomato sauce ( My Crock Pot Italian Tomato Sauce )
2 garlic cloves , minced
1/4 cup oil
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon crumbled Mexican oregano
1/2 teaspoon whole cumin seed , grind fresh with oregano

Instructions

1.Remove stems and seeds from the dried chiles and discard them.

3.Submerge the toasted chiles in 2 cups of boiling water and let them soak for 15 to 30 minutes until they soften.
4.In a food processor, combine the chiles and the soaking water, along with the tomato sauce, garlic, salt, oregano, and cumin. Puree the mixture until it becomes a smooth sauce.
5.In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sauce in oil for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
