5 tablespoons flour

2 cans beef broth
2 lbs chuck roast

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350F.
2.Cut the chuck roast into 3 inch chunks and season with salt.
3.In a large dutch oven or other heavy-bottomed pot, heat up a few tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat.
4.In a small bowl, mix together paprika, Mexican chili powder, flour, garlic powder and ground cloves. Dredge the beef in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.
5.Brown the beef in batches until well browned on all sides. Do not overcrowd the pot.
6.Remove the beef with a slotted spoon and set aside. Add more oil if necessary. Reduce the heat to medium.
7.Once all the beef is browned, return it all to the pot. Pour in the beef broth, stir everything together and bring it up to a simmer.
8.Once the sauce comes up to a simmer, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and put it in the preheated oven.
9.Cook for 3-4 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
10.Remove from the oven and use two forks to shred the beef into small pieces.
11.Serve with warm flour tortillas.
