Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2.In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, tablespoon of sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Blend until smooth.
3.In a small saucepan, heat 1/4 cup of sugar over medium-high heat until it melts and turns golden brown.
4.Pour the caramelized sugar into a 9-inch round cake pan, swirling to evenly coat the bottom.
5.Pour the milk and egg mixture on top of the caramelized sugar.
6.Place the cake pan in a large baking dish and fill the baking dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
7.Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center of the flan.
8.Remove from the oven and let cool before serving. Run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen the flan, then invert onto a plate.
