Ingredients

2 1/2 cups dried pinto beans or 2 1/2 cups kidney beans , sorted of debris
2 tablespoons salad oil
2 slices thick-sliced bacon , diced
2 jalapeno chiles , stemmed , seeded and chopped
1 large onion , chopped
3 garlic cloves , minced
1 bottle beer
2 cups chicken broth or 2 cups water
1 can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon dry oregano leaves
2 teaspoons ground cumin

Instructions

1.Rinse and soak the beans overnight in water.

3.Add beans, beer, broth or water, tomato sauce, oregano and cumin
4.Lower heat to medium, cover and cook it for 2-3 hours or until beans are tender.
5.Season it with salt and pepper to taste. Serve it hot.
