2 lbs small onion , unpeeled , but roots trimmed
1 ounce butter
4 teaspoons olive oil
1 bay leaf
4 cloves
6 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
5 -7 fluid ounces chicken broth
salt & freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley
4 tablespoons craisins

Instructions

1.In a large pot, bring water to boil. Add onions and let them cook for 5 minutes.
2.Drain the water and run cold water over the onions to cool them down. Remove the onions from the water and peel them.

5.Add the peeled onions and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 10-15 minutes, until the onions are soft.
6.Remove from heat and stir in the parsley and Craisins.
