It is a refreshing and tangy drink that combines the tartness of lemons and limes with the complex flavors of Angostura bitters. While the cordial can be enjoyed on its own, it is also commonly used as a mixer in cocktails, such as the popular Lemon, Lime & Bitters cocktail.

.In a large saucepan, stir together the lemon juice, lime juice, lemon rind, lime rind, and sugar.
.Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
.Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the Angostura bitters.
.Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean container.
.Allow the mixture to cool completely.
.Once cooled, add the finely chopped fresh mint to the cordial, if desired.
.Serve the cordial over ice with a splash of soda water.
