Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a 22cm x 11cm (base measurement) loaf pan with baking paper.
2.Combine beef mince, onion, garlic, carrot, tomato sauce, plum sauce, and vegemite in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Add the egg and breadcrumbs. Mix until well combined.
3.Spoon half the meat mixture into the prepared pan. Top with the grated cheese, keeping within a 1 cm border around the edges. Cover the cheese with the remaining meat mixture, pressing down to enclose the cheese completely.
4.Bake for 45-50 minutes or until cooked through. Stand for 5 minutes. Turn onto a platter. Slice and serve with Australian-style mashed potatoes and green vegetables.
