Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 brown onion , diced
1 garlic clove , crushed
2 cups silver beet , shredded
1 1/2 cups cooked chicken , shredded
2 cans creamed corn
4 sheets frozen shortcrust pastry
1 egg , lightly beaten
sweet chili sauce , to serve
These Silverbeet, Corn & Chicken Pasties are a tasty and hearty meal option that combines the rich flavors of tender chicken with the wholesome goodness of silverbeet and creamed corn, wrapped in golden, flaky pastry. They're easy to make and perfect for a portable lunch or as a snack on the go. These pasties are sure to become a family favorite!

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan-forced). Line an oven tray with baking paper.
2.Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook brown onion until softened. Add garlic and silverbeet, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the silverbeet wilts.
3.Add the chicken and creamed corn to the frying pan, and stir to combine.
4.Cut each pastry sheet in half. Spoon chicken mixture onto each half of the pastry sheet, brush the pastry edges with beaten egg. Fold the pastry to enclose the mixture and press the edges to seal. Brush the top of each pasty with the beaten egg.
5.Place the pastries on the oven tray in the oven and bake for 25 minutes or until golden. Serve with sweet chili sauce.
