Ingredients

1 3/4 cups warm water

2 cups wholemeal plain flour
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 cup burghul
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons bread improver
plain flour , extra , to dust
1 cup pitted dried dates
1 cup walnut halves
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped dried pineapple
1 egg , lightly whisked
2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons pepitas ( pumpkin seed kernels )
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
Sunflower, date, and walnut whole-wheat bread is a hearty and nutritious bread perfect for breakfast or snack time. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 200C. Grease and lightly flour a large loaf pan. In a small bowl, mix the yeast, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and 1/3 cup of the warm water. Let sit for 5-10 minutes, or until frothy.
2.In a separate large bowl, mix the sesame oil, remaining brown sugar, and remaining warm water. Add in both flours, burghul, salt, and bread improver. Mix until well combined.
3.Add the frothy yeast mixture to the large bowl and stir until combined. Add the dates, walnuts, raisins, and dried pineapple and stir until evenly distributed.
4.Pour the mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Brush the top with the whisked egg and sprinkle on the sunflower seeds, pepitas (pumpkin seed kernels), and poppy seeds.
5.Bake the bread for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.
