Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 160°C (fan-forced) and line 2 baking sheets with baking paper.
2.In a large bowl, combine the oats, flour, and sugar.
3.In a small saucepan, melt the butter and golden syrup or honey.
4.Add the baking soda to the boiling water and mix well. Add the baking soda mixture to the butter mixture.
5.Pour the butter mixture onto the dry ingredients and mix until thoroughly combined.
6.Use wet hands to portion the mixture into 16 balls and then use your hands or a fork to slightly flatten them, about 7cm in diameter.
7.Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
8.Let the biscuits cool on the trays for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
