Instructions

.In a small bowl, combine the dried yeast, sugar, and warm milk. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes.
.In a large bowl, combine the flour and ground cinnamon. Add the chopped unsalted butter and grated orange zest. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
.Add the beaten egg and yeast mixture to the flour mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon to form a dough.
.Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
.Preheat your oven to 180C (356F). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
.Roll the risen dough into a rectangle approximately 30cm x 50cm (12 in x 20 in). Spread the chocolate hazelnut spread over the dough, leaving a 1cm (0.4 in) border around the edges. Sprinkle the chopped dates and walnuts over the chocolate hazelnut spread.
.Starting from one of the longer edges, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 12 even slices.
.Place the slices cut side up on the lined baking tray, leaving a little space between each slice. Cover with the damp cloth and let rise for 20-30 minutes.
.Bake the buns for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
.Let the buns cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
