500 g floury potatoes
2 garlic cloves , crushed
75 g gruyere
285 ml double cream
25 g butter
salt & freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas mark 4.
2.Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
3.In a large bowl, mix the garlic with the cream and season with salt and pepper.
4.Grease a baking dish with butter and start layering the potato slices and cream mixture, adding grated gruyere in between each layer.
5.Finish by pouring the remaining cream mixture on top and sprinkle with grated gruyere.
6.Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes, until golden and tender on the inside.
