Ingredients

1/2 kg mutton ( Lamb )
1/2 cup water
1 bay leaf
1/2 cup yoghurt ( curd )
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons coriander powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
5 cloves cardamom powder
3 -4 cloves
6 -7 cloves garlic
2 medium red onions
2 tomatoes
2 red bell peppers or 2 green bell peppers
2 medium potatoes
2 1/2 cm ginger
8 cloves garlic
4 tablespoons sunflower oil
1 teaspoon garam masala
fresh coriander
curry leaf
2 chilies

Instructions

1.Marinate the mutton with yoghurt, chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, black pepper, cardamom powder, and salt. Keep aside for 1 hour.
2.Heat oil in a pan and add bay leaf, curry leaf, cloves, and chopped onions. Sauté until onions are translucent.
3.Add chopped tomatoes, sliced bell peppers, and grated ginger-garlic. Cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes are soft.
4.Add the marinated mutton along with the marinade and cook on medium heat for 20-25 minutes.
5.Add chopped potatoes, 1/2 cup water, and cover the pan. Cook for 15-20 minutes until mutton and potato are tender.
6.Finally, add garam masala, fresh coriander, and sliced green chilies. Stir well and serve hot with steamed rice or bread.
