Bhatura is a popular Indian bread often served with chana masala or any rich curry. It is typically a weekend or special occasion dish in Indian households. The dough is made with flour, semolina, yogurt, and oil, and it is allowed to rest before frying. Bhatura is deep-fried, giving it a crispy texture on the outside and a soft texture on the inside. It is a filling comfort food that is best enjoyed with family and friends.

Instructions

1.Place the flour, semolina, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl and stir until well combined.
2.Add the yogurt and oil and mix well. Gradually add lukewarm water, kneading until a smooth, pliable dough is formed.
3.Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
4.Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll each ball into a flat disk, about 6 inches in diameter.
5.Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until hot. Gently add the bhatura to the oil, one at a time, and fry until light golden brown, flipping as needed.
6.Remove the bhatura from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with chana masala or any curry of your choice.
