Ingredients

1 cup yoghurt , beaten
3 cups water
4 tablespoons chickpea flour ( Besan )
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 inch gingerroot , juliened
1 green chili pepper , slit lengthwise
1/2 - 1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon oil
1 teaspoon ghee ( clarified butter )
1 round dried red chili pepper
4 cloves
1 curl cinnamon sticks
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/8 teaspoon fenugreek seeds ( Methi )
1/8 teaspoon asafoetida powder ( Hing )
10 -12 curry leaves
2 tablespoons cilantro leaves , chopped fine
Gujarati Dahi Curry, also known as Spiced Yoghurt Soup, is a traditional Indian soup that is popular in the state of Gujarat. It is a simple and comforting soup that is often enjoyed during winters. Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix together the yoghurt, chickpea flour, salt, turmeric powder, sugar, and 3 cups of water.
2.Heat oil and ghee in a pan and add red chili pepper, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cumin seed, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, and asafoetida powder to it. Stir fry until the mustard seeds pop.
3.Add gingerroot, green chili pepper, and curry leaves to the pan and sauté for a minute.
4.Pour in the yoghurt mixture to the pan and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes.
