Ingredients

1 cup semolina
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups ghee , melted
4 1/2 cups water
5 -6 almonds , blanched
Gurudware Ka Seera is a traditional sweet dish of Punjab. It is usually served in Gurudwaras after the langar to all the devotees as a prashad. The seera has a rich taste and is a great source of energy and nutrition.

Instructions

1.Heat 1 cup ghee in a kadhai on medium heat and add semolina and whole wheat flour.
2.Roast the flour for about 15 mins until it turns golden brown.
3.In a separate pan, boil 4 1/2 cups water and 2 cups sugar to make a syrup.
4.Add the roasted semolina and wheat flour mixture to the syrup.
5.Add 2 tablespoons of ghee and 5-6 blanched almonds and stir well
6.Cook for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Gurudware Ka Seera is a simple and easy to make dessert.

CONS

Gurudware Ka Seera is high in carbohydrates and sugar.

It is not recommended for those who are looking for low calorie diet.
