1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon asafoetida powder
1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
1 1/2 kg skinless chicken thighs , bone in
1 cup sour cream , stirred
1 cup chopped cilantro ( including stems )
3/4 cup frozen peas

Instructions

1.Heat canola oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
2.Add onions and cinnamon stick and cook until onions are browned.
3.Add garlic, ginger, and tomatoes, cooking until tomatoes break down.
4.Add salt, black pepper, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, curry powder, asafoetida powder, and red chili pepper flakes. Cook for a couple of minutes, until fragrant.
5.Add chicken thighs and toss to coat.

7.Reduce heat to low, cover pot, and simmer for 30 minutes.
