Ingredients

2 cups water
2 chai tea teabags
8 cloves
4 cardamom pods
4 slices ginger
1 star anise
2 cinnamon sticks
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons espresso powder
16 ounces mascarpone cheese
1 3/4 cups heavy cream
4 tablespoons sugar
7 ounces ladyfingers
2 -3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
If you are a fan of traditional tiramisu, you will love this dirty chai version! The combination of chai tea and espresso powder gives this dessert a unique and delicious flavor. This dessert is perfect for entertaining, as it can be prepared in advance and chilled until ready to serve. While it may not be the healthiest option, it is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2.In a medium saucepan, combine the water, tea bags, cloves, cardamom pods, ginger, star anise, cinnamon sticks, brown sugar, and espresso powder.
3.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the mixture is reduced to about 1 1/2 cups.
4.Remove the tea bags, cloves, cardamom pods, ginger, star anise, and cinnamon sticks from the mixture.
5.In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese with 1 cup of the heavy cream and the sugar until the mixture thickens.
6.In a separate bowl, whip the remaining 3/4 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
7.Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
8.Dip the ladyfingers in the reduced tea mixture and place them in a single layer in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
9.Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
10.Dip the remaining ladyfingers in the tea mixture and layer them on top of the mascarpone mixture.
11.Spread the remaining mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
12.Chill the tiramisu in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
13.Before serving, sift the cocoa powder over the top of the tiramisu.
