Oven Cooked Dum Ka Chicken (Murghi) is a popular chicken recipe from the state of Hyderabad in India. Dum refers to the process of cooking food in a sealed pot over low heat, which creates a steam bath that makes the food more tender, flavorful, and aromatic. This recipe is a simplified version of the traditional Hyderabadi recipe, which calls for cooking the chicken in a heavy-bottomed pot called a handi. The use of a roasting pan and an oven makes the cooking process less time-consuming and more accessible to home cooks. The dish pairs well with rice, naan, or roti, and is perfect for a cozy family dinner or a weekend feast with friends.

.In a large bowl, mix together the chicken, sliced onion, yogurt, and ghee.
.Add in the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, black pepper, chili powder, and green chilies.
.Mix well and add in the fresh coriander leaves, ground ginger, salt, and fresh coconut.
.Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and marinate the chicken for at least 2 hours in the fridge.
.Preheat your oven to 375°F.
.Transfer the marinated chicken and its marinade to a roasting pan.
.Roast the chicken in the oven for 40-45 minutes or until fully cooked and golden brown.
