Ingredients

4 cups bottle gourd , grated grated ( remove large seeds if any )
3 cups whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
3 drops rose water
1 pinch of saffron soaked in 2 tbsp milk
200 g milk solids

Instructions

1.Heat a heavy bottomed pan and add grated bottle gourd.
2.Cook on low heat until the water dries up and the bottle gourd becomes soft.
3.Add milk and cook until it thickens.
4.Add sugar and cook until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture starts to thicken again.
5.Add cardamom powder and the soaked saffron mixture.
6.Cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
7.Add milk solids and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes until everything is well incorporated.
8.Pour the mixture into a greased tray and sprinkle rose water over it.
9.Let it cool down and cut into desired shapes.
