Ingredients

1 kg beetroot
1 1/2 liters milk
400 -500 g sugar
cardamom powder
3 pieces saffron
1 tablespoon ghee
The beetroot halwa is an Indian dessert that is typically made during festivals and special occasions. It is a rich and indulgent dessert that can be served hot or cold. Instructions

1.Wash and peel the beetroot, grate it and keep it aside.
2.In a heavy-bottomed pan, add 1 tablespoon ghee and let it melt.
3.Add the grated beetroot and sauté on low flame for 10-15 minutes.
4.Now add 1 1/2 liters of milk and stir it well.
5.Cook on low flame, stirring occasionally, until the milk evaporates and the beetroot is soft.
6.Add 400-500g of sugar and mix it well.
7.Then add 3 pieces of saffron and a pinch of cardamom powder.
8.Cook on low flame until the sugar dissolves and the halwa thickens.
9.Turn off the heat and serve the hot halwa in a dish garnished with some chopped nuts.
