Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat the canola oil over medium-high heat.
2.Add the chopped onions and cinnamon sticks. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
3.Add the minced garlic and ginger. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
4.Add the chopped tomatoes, salt, ground black pepper, turmeric, ground cumin, garam masala, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the tomatoes are soft and the spices are fragrant.
5.Add the chicken pieces and stir until they are coated in the spice mixture.
6.Add the low-fat sour cream and water. Stir to combine.
7.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 30-45 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
8.Adjust the seasoning as needed.
9.Serve over rice or with naan bread. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
