Ingredients

4 cups strawberries , sliced
1 cup white sugar
8 cups cold water
1 lime , cut into 8 wedges ( optional )
8 fresh mint sprigs ( optional )

Instructions

1.In a blender, blend the sliced strawberries until smooth.
2.In a pot, bring the 8 cups of water to a boil.
3.Add the sugar to the boiling water and stir until the sugar dissolves.
4.Remove the pot from heat and add the blended strawberries.
5.Let the mixture steep for 2-3 hours at room temperature.
6.Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher.
7.Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
8.Serve over ice with a lime wedge and a sprig of fresh mint, if desired.
