1 cup rice
1/2 cup tuvar dal
1 onion
8 shallots
1 tomatoes
1 carrot
4 beans
1/2 cup peas
2 cloves
1 cinnamon
1 teaspoon anise seed
2 teaspoons coriander seeds
3 -4 red chilies
1 teaspoon khus khus
2 teaspoons coconut
2 cups tamarind juice
10 curry leaves
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon turmeric
2 tablespoons coriander
2 tablespoons ghee
10 roasted cashews

Instructions

1.Cook the rice and set aside to cool.
2.Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
3.Fry onions and shallots until they turn golden brown.
4.Add tomatoes, and the remaining vegetables followed by tamarind juice, salt and turmeric powder.
5.Add the roasted spices together with the cooked dal. Let it cook for few whistles.
6.Once done, add cooked rice, roasted cashews and coriander. Give it a nice mix ensuring rice grains do not break.
7.Serve hot with pickle and papadum!
