Ingredients

290 g channa dal
830 ml vegetable stock
6 g salt
1 g turmeric
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
300 g spinach , washed and chopped
30 g ghee
1 onion , chopped
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
2 g cumin seeds
4 g mustard seeds
2 g garam masala
3/4 cup plain yogurt
Dal With Spinach and Yoghurt is a popular Indian dish that is consumed all over the world. Instructions

1.Rinse the channa dal well and add to a large saucepan along with the vegetable stock, salt, turmeric and chili powder.
2.Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes until the dal is cooked.
3.Stir in the chopped spinach and cook for a further 5 minutes until the spinach is wilted.
4.In a separate pan, melt the ghee and add the chopped onion, curry powder, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and garam masala.
5.Saute for 5-10 minutes until the onions are soft and the spices are fragrant.
6.Stir the spiced onion mixture into the dal and spinach.
7.Allow to cool slightly before stirring in the yogurt.
8.Serve hot with rice or naan. Enjoy!
