Ingredients

2 1/2 cups full-fat plain yogurt , divided
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh minced ginger
2 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
8 chicken legs ( with thighs attached , skin on or removed )
6 tablespoons melted butter
Tandoori-Style Yogurt-Marinated Chicken Legs is a classic dish of Indian cuisine, that is typically marinated in a mixture of spiced yogurt before being grilled to perfection. Instructions

1.In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of yogurt, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, salt, coriander, turmeric, cumin, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
2.Add chicken legs to the marinade and coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight.
3.Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
4.Grill chicken legs, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, about 20-25 minutes.
5.Baste the chicken legs with melted butter if desired. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
