1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup water
Basic Rotis or Chappatis are a staple in Indian cuisine. This simple bread is made from whole wheat flour and water. They can be enjoyed with various Indian dishes like curries, lentils, and vegetables. Rotis are easy to make and can be prepared in less than 30 minutes. Simply roll out the dough into thin discs and cook on a skillet or tawa until fluffy and golden brown. They can also be served with butter or ghee for added flavor.

Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, add the flour. Gradually pour in water in small quantities and start kneading the dough until it comes together and is smooth.
2.Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes.
3.Split the dough into small balls, shape into flat discs of about 5-6 inches in circumference.
4.Preheat a skillet or tawa over medium heat. Place the rolled roti on the skillet and allow to cook for about 30 seconds.
5.Flip the roti over and cook the other side for another 30 seconds or until small brown spots appear.
6.Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls.

Basic Rotis or Chappatis are extremely easy to make and only require two ingredients.
They have a soft and chewy texture and pair well with any curry dish.

Being whole wheat, they are a healthier alternative to traditional white flour rotis.

CONS
