Ingredients

2 lbs chicken parts
2 medium onions , chopped
2 medium tomatoes , chopped
1 tablespoon coarsely chopped garlic
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
3/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
2/3 cup plain yogurt
3 green chilies , chopped
1 teaspoon coriander seed
1 teaspoon cumin seed
3 geen cardamom pods
6 cloves
1 teaspoon garam masala
salt and pepper
ghee or butter
1 1/2 cups coriander leaves
Indian Chicken Curry is a classic and authentic Indian dish with hundreds of variations. Instructions

1.Heat a tablespoon of ghee or butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
2.Add the onions and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they become soft and translucent.

4.Add the chicken pieces to the pan and fry for a few minutes until they are lightly browned on all sides.
5.Mix the turmeric powder in with the yogurt and add it to the pan.
6.Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, green cardamom pods, and cloves to the pan. Stir everything together until it is well mixed.
7.Add salt and pepper to taste.
8.Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat. Simmer the curry for about 30-35 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
9.Sprinkle the garam masala on top of the curry and stir it in.
10.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
