Ingredients

3 lbs chicken parts
1 large onion , cut into 8 pieces
1 inch fresh ginger
4 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper ( optional )
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 cup nonfat yogurt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cumin seed
4 cardamom pods
2 bay leaves
1 inch cinnamon stick
4 whole cloves
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons golden raisins
1/4 cup blanched almond , slivered
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
2 tablespoons coriander , chopped

Instructions

1.In a food processor, pulse the onion, ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, coriander powder, and cayenne pepper until completely pureed.

5.Add the pureed mixture to the pot along with the salt, and stir to combine.
6.Pour in the water, and then add the raisins and almonds. Let the curry simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is tender.
7.Stir in the garam masala and chopped coriander before serving and enjoy!
