2 tablespoons butter ( can sub olive or canola oil )
1/2 cup red lentil
1/2 cup peas ( I lightly steam some frozen ones )
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1 dash garam masala
1 dash coriander

Instructions

1.Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it for 15 minutes in water.
2.In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat and add the ground cumin, sauté for a minute.
3.Add the red lentils, curry powder, and broth, and bring to a boil.
4.Add in the soaked basmati rice, reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, Fluff the rice, stir in the peas, coriander, and garam masala.
5.Cover again and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
