Ingredients

1 cup lentils
1/3 cup basmati rice
4 4 cups chicken broth or 4 cups vegetable broth
salt ( to taste )
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cumin
1/4 cup olive oil or 1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 large onions , sliced 1/2 inch slivers

Instructions

1.Rinse lentils and rice separately.

6.In a serving dish, spread out the cooked rice and lentils mixture. Top with the remaining half of the fried onions and spiced onions from the pan.
7.Serve hot or cold, as desired.
