12 slices cucumbers
2 jalapeno peppers , thinly sliced

Banh Mi Burgers W-Caramel BBQ Sauce is a fusion between Vietnamese and American cuisine. This recipe takes inspiration from the classic Banh Mi sandwich, traditionally made with baguette bread and filled with pickled carrots and daikon radish, cilantro, and jalapeno peppers. In this recipe, the sandwich is transformed into a juicy burger patty, seasoned with fish sauce, Vietnamese caramel barbecue sauce, garlic, and ginger, bringing together the best of both worlds. Instructions

1.In a saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar and 2 tablespoons water.
2.Cook until the sugar melts and turns to a golden caramel, swirling the pan occasionally.
3.Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of water, fish sauce, lime juice, Thai chili, garlic and shallot.
4.In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, garlic, ginger, green onions, cilantro, fish sauce, Vietnamese caramel barbecue sauce, lime zest, sliced Thai chili, and salt.
5.Mix well then form into patties and grill for 4-5 minutes per side, until fully cooked.
6.Brush each patty with the remaining Vietnamese caramel barbecue sauce.
7.Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the buns, adding the patty, pickled carrots and daikon radish, sliced cucumbers, and jalapeno peppers.
8.Garnish with cilantro before serving.
