The addition of chopped pistachios adds a nice crunch to each bite. The saffron-cardamom syrup is made separately by boiling sugar, saffron, cardamom, and water together until it thickens into a syrupy consistency. The syrup is poured over each individual bowl of bread pudding just before serving.
