Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C)
2.In a medium mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, water, and coconut.
3.Add the baking powder to the semolina and mix well.
4.Gradually add the semolina mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until well combined.
5.Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and smooth with a spatula.
6.Using a sharp knife, score the top of the mixture in a diamond pattern.
7.Place a split almond in the center of each diamond.
8.Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
9.While the cake is baking, prepare the syrup by combining the sugar, lemon juice, and water in a saucepan and cooking over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
10.Remove the cake from the oven and pour the syrup over the hot cake.
11.Allow the cake to cool and absorb the syrup for at least 30 minutes before serving.
