185 g butter
1 cup caster sugar

2 cups self-raising flour
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
3 medium bananas
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup orange juice

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180C. Grease a 20cm cake pan and line with baking paper.

5.Mash the bananas and add them along with the lemon juice to the butter mixture.

9.For the orange syrup, combine the orange juice, sugar, and water in a small saucepan.
10.Stir over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.
11.Increase the heat and bring to the boil.
12.Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until slightly thick.
13.Poke holes in the cake and pour over the orange syrup.
