Ingredients

1/2 lb crabmeat
8 ounces cream cheese
1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 garlic clove , minced
1 pinch white pepper
1 egg white
32 wonton wrappers
2 -4 cups oil , for deep-frying
1/2 cup chinese mustard powder ( I usually just use Colman 's English mustard )
1/2 cup cold water

Named after Madame Wong, a Chinese restaurant owner who introduced the dish to Americans in the 1950s, Crab Rangoon has since become a staple on Chinese restaurant menus across the United States. Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, combine the crabmeat, cream cheese, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and white pepper.
2.Beat the egg white lightly for 10 seconds.
3.Lay out a wonton wrapper with a point toward you.
4.Place a teaspoon of the crab mixture in the center of the wrapper.
5.Use your finger or a brush to moisten the edges with the beaten egg white.
6.Fold the wrapper up by bringing the point closest to you up and over the filling, pressing the edges together to seal tightly.
7.Fold the two points on the sides in toward the center and press to seal.
8.Repeat with the remaining wontons and filling.
9.Heat the oil to 375°F in a large saucepan or deep fryer.
10.Fry the wontons in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
11.Drain the wontons on paper towels.
12.Prepare the dipping sauce by mixing the mustard powder with cold water in a small bowl.
13.Serve the hot wontons with the dipping sauce.
