Ingredients

cornstarch , for dusting pan
24 gyoza skins
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon brown sugar or 1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
1 garlic clove , minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger , grated
1 jalapeno , sliced

Instructions

1.In a large skillet, heat canola oil over medium-high heat.

4.Remove skillet from heat and stir in soy sauce, black bean sauce, sesame oil, and cilantro.
5.Let mixture cool.
6.Dust a sheet pan or plate with cornstarch.
7.Place 1 heaping tablespoon of eggplant filling in the center of each gyoza skin.
8.Bring the 4 corners together and pinch to seal, forming little pouches.
9.Set shu mai on the dusted plate, seam side down.
10.In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and jalapeno.
11.Mix well and use as dipping sauce for Noble House Eggplant Shu Mai.
