General Tso's chicken is an iconic dish that originated in New York City in the 1970s. It is a mix of crispy fried chicken pieces tossed in a sweet and tangy sauce made of soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar. The dish is named after General Tso, a 19th-century Chinese military leader, but has no actual connection to the general. It has become a staple at Chinese-American restaurants and is now enjoyed all over the world. This recipe is a healthier take on the classic dish, with less oil and sugar.

4.Add the coated chicken pieces and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, around 5-7 minutes.
5.Pour in the chicken broth mixture and cook until the sauce thickens, around 1-2 minutes.
6.Serve hot over rice, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
