Ingredients

200 g firm tofu , cubed
300 g ground beef
4 scallions , chopped , green and white separated
1 tablespoon onion , minced ( i used small red ones )
1 tablespoon garlic , minced
1 tablespoon ginger , minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 cup chinese rice wine or 1/4 cup sherry wine
1 tablespoon chili sauce ( or ketchup )
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
5 small dried chilies
1 teaspoon cornstarch , dissolved in
1 tablespoon water
chili flakes , to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

1.Cut the tofu into small cubes and set aside.
2.In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
3.Add the ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes, or until it is browned and cooked through.
4.Add the white parts of the chopped scallions, onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, Chinese rice wine, chili sauce, sugar, oyster sauce, salt, black pepper, and dried chilies. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
5.Add the cubed tofu and the dissolved cornstarch. Gently stir everything together to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened and the tofu is heated through.
6.Serve hot with steamed Chinese rice and the chopped green parts of the scallions sprinkled on top.
