1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, mix together the star anise, cinnamon, fennel, cloves, Szechwan pepper, five spice powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.
2.Rub the spice mixture onto both sides of the tilapia fillet.
3.In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
4.When the oil is hot, carefully add the tilapia fillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until the fish is fully cooked.
5.Remove the fish from the pan and place it on a plate.
6.In the same skillet over medium heat, add the remaining tablespoon of oil.
7.Add the scallions, ginger, and garlic to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously.
8.Add the hot ginger sauce, orange marmalade, orange juice, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes to the pan.
9.Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
10.Spoon the sauce over the tilapia fillet and serve hot.
