CONS

Five-spice powder usually contains cinnamon, star anise, fennel, clove, and Szechuan peppercorns which can be quite strong; people who are more sensitive to this strong spice may feel it overpowers the dish.

Cooking the ribs in the sauce can make them a bit fattening.

The recipe does not include a side dish or salad to form a complete meal.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

Pork ribs are high in protein and fat; thus, they are not the best food for individuals on a strict diet plan.
However, pork ribs contain many essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B12, iron, and zinc.
The ketchup and orange give the recipe an extra dose of vitamin C.
