Trader Vic's Crab Rangoon is a popular appetizer that was created by restaurateur Victor Jules Bergeron Jr. in the 1950s. The dish is a fusion of Chinese and American flavors, featuring wonton wrappers filled with a mixture of fresh crabmeat, cream cheese, and spices. It has since become a staple appetizer in many Chinese-American restaurants. This easy-to-make dish is perfect for entertaining and will leave your guests wanting more. Serve it up as a prelude to a Chinese-inspired dinner or alongside cocktails on a night in with friends.

Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, combine the crabmeat, cream cheese, A.1. Original Sauce, and garlic powder. Mix well until fully combined.
2.Place a tablespoon of the mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Wet the edges with a bit of water and fold over, forming a triangle. Press the edges together.
3.Use a fork to seal the edges of the triangle.
4.Heat the oil in a deep fryer or wok over medium-high heat. When hot, add the wontons, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
5.Serve hot with Chinese mustard and Chinese red sauce on the side.
