Ethiopian Chicken and Onion Stew, also known as Doro Wot, is a staple dish in Ethiopian cuisine. It is traditionally prepared with a variety of spices and served on special occasions. This spicy and savory stew gets its heat from cayenne and black pepper, and the sweetness comes from caramelized onions. It is highly recommended to use red onions to give the stew a deep and rich flavor. The hard-boiled eggs, cooked rice, and plain yogurt complement the spiciness of the stew and help to balance the flavors. This is a perfect meal to warm you up and spice up your taste buds on a cold winter evening.

Instructions

1.In a large pot, place the chicken with lime wedges, water, allspice, ginger, black pepper, garlic, cayenne, cardamom, and cloves.

3.Remove the chicken from the pot and set it aside to cool, then shred it into bite-sized pieces.
