Ingredients

2 cups nutty wheat flour
2 3/4 cups flour
4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
250 ml all-bran cereal
625 ml buttermilk
375 ml sugar
500 g butter
3 eggs
5 ml salt
1 cup coconut , shredded
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup sesame seeds
Nutty Wheat Buttermilk Beskuit-Rusks are a popular breakfast food in South Africa. The buttermilk and nutty wheat flour give these rusks a distinctive taste. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2.Mix the nutty wheat flour, flour, baking powder and All-Bran cereal in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
3.3. Beat the butter and sugar in the mixer until light and creamy. Beat the eggs in one at a time, until well combined.
4.In a bowl, combine the buttermilk and salt, then mix the dry ingredients in with a wooden spoon. Once the recipe is combined, add coconut, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.
5.Mix well, then gently press the mixture into a greased baking pan.
6.Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
7.Take out cake pan and allow the rusks to cool down.
8.Cut rusks into bite-size pieces, and place them on baking trays.
9.Bake at 70°C for 8 – 12 hours, or until completely dry and brittle
