Your little one is growing fast, and now that they’re 9 months old, they’re probably starting to show more interest in solid foods. But what should you be feeding them? Here are a few meal ideas to get you started.

Breakfast:
– Scrambled eggs with bits of diced avocado
– Oatmeal mixed with puréed banana and cinnamon
– Toast with cream cheese and small slices of soft fruit such as peaches or pears

Lunch:
– Shredded chicken or turkey mixed with mashed sweet potato and steamed carrots
– Small cubes of cooked and diced squash and zucchini mixed with ricotta cheese or hummus and spread on soft bread
– Mashed or puréed lentils mixed with a little olive oil and served with soft boiled or scrambled egg

Dinner:
– Mashed or diced sweet potato, peas, and chunks of cooked and shredded ground beef. Mix with a little unsweetened apple sauce or yogurt
– Small pieces of fish, such as salmon or cod, mixed in with a simple tomato sauce over pasta
– Mashed or diced chicken, steamed broccoli and carrots, and roasted potato chunks. Mix with a little bit of gravy

Snacks:
– Cubes of cheese and ripe fruit such as peaches or bananas
– Cheese crackers made with whole grain flour, and a few slices of soft fruit such as strawberries or blueberries
– Yogurt mixed with small bits of fruit and granola

Remember that all food needs to be soft enough to prevent choking, and that babies need a balanced diet consisting of a variety of fruits, vegetables, proteins, and whole grains. Avoid salt and sugar as much as possible and always consult your pediatrician if you have any concerns.

With these meal ideas and a little creativity, feeding your 9 month old can be fun and healthy!
