Bavarian Cocktail Meatballs are a classic appetizer that are perfect for parties and gatherings. This recipe takes frozen precooked meatballs and dresses them up with a flavorful and sweet-savory sauce made from onions, brown sugar, and beef and onion soup mix. The addition of beer deepens the flavor of the dish and adds a distinctive Bavarian twist to the recipe. These meatballs are great served hot as a snack or appetizer with toothpicks or skewers. They are easy to make and an ideal addition to any party menu.

Instructions

1.Take a large skillet and add the thawed meatballs to it. Turn the heat on to medium-high and cook the meatballs for 5-7 minutes or until browned on all sides.
2.Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside on a plate. In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions until they are soft and caramelized.
3.Add the brown sugar and the beef and onion soup mix to the skillet. Mix everything together and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sugar has melted.
4.Add the beer or beef broth to the skillet and stir well. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 5-7 minutes until the liquid has reduced by about half.
5.Add the meatballs back to the skillet and stir them into the sauce. Let them cook for another 5-10 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the meatballs are fully cooked. Serve hot with toothpicks or skewers.
